Recitals, Auditions, and Competitions

Students enrolled in private lessons with Stackhouse Piano Studio have opportunities to perform in a large number of contests, competitions, exams, recitals, and masterclasses throughout the year. Students may participate in as many or as few events as the wish to meet their own performance goals and interests.

Our studio proudly partners with the National Guild of Piano Teachers, Music Teachers National Association, Oklahoma Music Teachers Association, and many more to provide ongoing access to the best confidence & skill-building activities possible.

Each level of the Piano Adventures Online Exams consists of a Theory Exam and a Performance Exam. Students who successfully pass both exams receive the Piano Adventures Diploma.

The purpose of the MTNA Performance competitions is to provide educational experiences for students and teachers and to recognize exceptionally talented young artists and their teachers in their pursuit of musical excellence.

The Marilyn Witcher Junior Honor Competition allows OMTA teachers to enter fifth and sixth-grade pianists and instrumentalists aspiring to be young artists in a competitive event to build confidence in performing repertoire needed to prepare for and enter the MTNA Junior Performance Competitions in the following years.

The Junior Competition provides students in school grades 3-8 with the opportunity to perform in a competitive setting that will allow those students who exhibit a sufficient level of performance skill to have the opportunity to perform in recital at the State Conference.

OMTA Senior Competition

The Senior Competition provides students in school grades 9-12 (piano, orchestral instruments, and voice) with the opportunity to perform in a competitive setting, advance to a final round and perform in recital at the State Conference.

OMTA District & State Achievement Auditions

The District Achievement Audition allows students in school grades K-12 (3-12 for the Merit Division) to perform in a non-competitive setting in order to recognize and encourage individual achievement without comparison or contrast with other students of similar age and/or length of study.

The Global Musical Arts Competition is a virtual music competition that encourages aspiring music students to set and achieve their goals.

Monthly competitions provide twelve different themes a year that pose unique artistic challenges.
